"Reflection, Refraction, Diffraction", lenticular art installation at Rengstorff Park Aquatics Center

2073 Crisanto Ave, Mountain View, CA 94040 (open to the public)

The final installation at the new state-of-the-art facility features lenticular prints, reminiscent of vintage 3D postcards. As viewers move along the hallway, the images shift and animate, using a series of lenses to create the illusion of depth and motion. This playful effect invites passersby to engage with the work from multiple angles, echoing the dynamic nature of both water and memory.

I photographed the original pools at Rengstorff Park just before their renovation, focusing on the way light bends and scatters through water. These moments — ripples, reflections, and shifting sunbeams — capture the ephemeral beauty and constant motion of water, evoking a sense of fluidity and wonder.
