During
a week-long residency at Kidspace Gallery at MASS MoCA I worked
with two second grade classes from Brayton Elementary. The
students made their houses out of clay, then together we cast
rubber molds of the clay models. The kids then made colorful
Jell-O versions of their houses using the rubber molds. Next
they painted backdrops and constructed dioramas that they
then photographed.
I used
their houses and props to construct a Jell-O version of their
town, North Adams, Massachusetts. In this video, the Jell-O
town gets hit by a particularly destructive rainstorm.
